Why Join the IoDSA?

Membership fees are paid annually for a calendar year (January to December). The renewal period begins every year around November for the following year’s membership. Please read the terms and conditions for membership here.

Individuals
The 2025 annual membership fee is R4 140 (incl. VAT).
A pro-rata fee is applied from April. From September to December, the following year's membership fee is included in the total fees to facilitate membership management and ensure continuity during the impending renewal period.

Corporates
Corporate membership fees are based on the number of individuals signed up. Click here to view more.

*Director means an individual who is formally appointed to a Board or Board Committee, who holds voting rights and who carries fiduciary responsibilities. This definition includes prescribed officers and alternate directors (who bear the same risks and liabilities as directors) as well as external members of Board Committees.

In addition to the above specific eligibility criteria, all potential members must also satisfy the general eligibility criteria set out in Clause 6 of the IoDSA Member Regulations. View the IoDSA Member Regulations for the full eligibility criteria.

Before You Start:

• The entire process must be completed in one sitting
• It will take you appropriately 5 – 10 min to complete the application form.
• You will be required to upload the following documents as part of your application. 
  Ensure these are available in electronic format:
  
  • Certified copy of your South African ID (or Passport or Local Identification if you are a foreign national),
  • Certified copy of your highest qualification,
  • CV (detailing your work and professional experience); and
  • Proof of employment (which confirms your management level within the organisation as per the company organogram), or
    
  • Proof of director appointment (such as CIPC registration document, Masters Letter of Authority, Letter of Appointment etc.)
    

The Application covers:

• Personal and billing information.
  
• Academic qualifications, job level and career experience
  
• Legal, regulatory and reputational declarations.
  
• Note: You are required to ascribe to the IoDSA Member Code of Professional Conduct, and accept the Membership Standard Terms and Conditions and other relevant regulations.

Important Notes:

• Acceptance of membership is at the IoDSA’s discretion.
  
• The IoDSA shall determine which member category you qualify for based on the information provided in your application.
  
• You may be required to submit further documentation to confirm details submitted in your application.
  
• All applications are subject to review; falsified information may lead to disciplinary action.
  
• If declined or withdrawn, a R575 (incl. VAT) non-refundable admin fee applies.
  

All applications must be submitted online and the applicable membership fee paid prior to the application being processed.
