Approved CPD ProgrammesThe IoDSA recognises education providers and programmes that are aligned to the elements contained in the Director Competency Framework.
For the current period, the following providers and programmes are approved for CPD purposes.
Masterclass in excelling as a board & management in navigating the ESG journey - 1 CPD point per hour of learning Boardroom Simulation: Special Board Meeting Boardvisory’s Board Simulations are an immersive experience where Board members interact with each other, guided by a seasoned Board Chair, and supported by experienced Board Coaches and Mentors. It is a safe and supportive environment, providing practical insights into real-life Boardroom scenarios including how decisions are made, conflicts resolved, and strategies are formulated. (3 CPD points) 3rd Corporate Governance Conference 2025 - Navigating the Future Through Good Governance (7 - 10 December 2025) - With a focus on leadership rooted in conviction rather than mere compliance, this year’s theme, “Navigating the Future Through Good Governance,” shifts the conversation toward the good governance outcomes of ethical culture, performance, conformance, and legitimacy. (12 CPD points) ISO 37000:2021 Governance of Organizations - Guidance Foundation Course - The International Organization for Standardization has published the first ever international benchmark for good governance with unanimous approval. The International Standard, ISO 37000, provides guidance for the governance of organizations and a common language for all sizes and types of organizations across jurisdictions. (9 CPD points) 3rd Annual Conference 2025, An Intentional Governance Journey- This conference is designed to provide valuable insights and practical strategies for creating value and avoiding pitfalls through shared experiences. (7 CPD points) Leadership, Coaching and Mentoring Programme - (12 CPD points) Strategy Development - (12 CPD points) Governance@Play - 1 CPD point per hour of activity Board Governance Short Learning Programme - (400 CPD points) The legal aspect of corporate finance - (20 CPD points) Corporate Governance: Understanding ESG and the role of responsible investment and shareholder activism - (4 CPD points) Corporate Governance: Practical Insights - Corporate Governance procedures help a business become more efficient while reducing risk and the potential for corruption and mismanagement (21 CPD points) Decision Theory - Outcomes of this learning session allow participants to recognize how conscious improvements in the thinking process impact outcomes; describe common decision biases and the application of techniques for overcoming them. (1.5 CPD points) Derivatives Fundamentals: Options- Outcomes of this learning session allow participants to understand features and characteristics of options and why investors use the product; understand how these features influence the price of the option; understand payout diagrams for call and put options and how and why we use these payout diagrams for capital allocation decision-making; understand the relationship between calls and puts through the put-call parity equation. (1.5 CPD points) Derivatives Fundamentals: Option Greeks- Outcomes of this learning session allow participants to understand the purpose of an option pricing model, recognize its assumptions, and describe its variables; understand the risk sensitivity measures that are derived from an options pricing model a.k.a The Greeks. (1.5 CPD points) Derivatives Fundamentals: Option Strategies- Outcomes of this learning session allow participants to understand the common options strategies used for different investment objectives; understand how these options strategies are created using calls and puts and the relationship among them; understand common risks associated with each options strategy. (1.5 CPD points) An Introduction to the VIX Index- Outcomes of this learning session allow participants to understand volatility in the market and methods of measuring volatility; introduction to the VIX index, its history, and its significance in the volatility market; understand how the VIX index is calculated and “traded” via the products and their features; understand trends in the VIX and the application of those to market sentiment and past/present market events since its inception. (1.5 CPD points) Acquisitions and Disposals (Including related party transactions)- the regulatory framework Designed to give a better understanding of the JSE Listings Requirements in relation to “transactions” (principally acquisitions and disposals), including transactions with “related parties”, covering the ever confusing “associate” relationships definition and looking at practical examples (4 CPD points) Amendments to the Debt Listings Requirements)- This concise 2 hour course will take participants through the amendments to the JSE Listings Requirements published by the JSE on 5 November 2019 (5 CPD points) Best Practice Guidelines on communication and information flow between Boards, Committees and Management- This course is for you if you are involved in the preparation of information to the board or whether you are the receiver of information (5 CPD points) Company Secretary/Governance Professional: Beyond the statutory requirements- This session covers practical and proven best practices, tools and recommendations to elevate your value add and contribution to your company and board of directors, in turn contributing to the board’s overall efficacy and performance (1.5 CPD points) Comprehensive Overview of the JSE Listings Requirements- As one of the key decision-makers within a listed company, you have a responsibility to ensure that you understand the JSE’s Listings requirements (5 CPD points) Effective virtual meetings and minutes- This session provides a refresher of the South African legal requirements for virtual board and shareholder meetings, deals with the practical considerations and also recommendations to ensure virtual meetings becomes your better normal, rather than merely a new normal (1.5 CPD points) Financial statements for IROs: Foundation module- This half-day session, the first of a two-module course, assists those with only a rudimentary financial background to get to grips with the key elements of financial statements. (3 CPD points) Introduction to the role of the Company Secretary- Whether you are a new or seasoned company secretary, this course will highlight the changing expectations of this critical position (5 CPD points) Introduction to the JSE listing requirements- Full day course (8 CPD points) Mergers and Acquisitions- 2 day course providing solid understanding of the M&A theory and principles (14 CPD points) Programme level 1- Workshop for a Company Secretary in a listed company- The objective of this course is to inform listed company secretaries as to their role in the provision of support and guidance to the Board and to meet the necessary regulatory and statutory obligations of a listed company (1.5 CPS points) The new age Company Secretary: from basics to value add (session 1)- Whether you are a new or seasoned company secretary, this course will emphasise the changing expectations of this critical position (2 CPD points) The new age Company Secretary: from basics to value add (session 2)- This session covers practical and proven best practices, tools and recommendations to elevate your value add and contribution to your company and board of directors, in turn contributing to the board’s overall efficacy and performance (1.5 CPD points) Become An Approved Education and/or CPD Provider
