Designations Overview

IoDSA offers two designations, namely the Certified Director and Chartered Director (SA) designations. Each of these designations symbolises particular recognition given by the IoDSA to the person that qualifies for it and the assessment for both designations is based on the IoDSA Director Competency Framework.

Both the Chartered Director (SA) and Certified Director are recognised under the NQF Act, Act 67 of 2008 by the South African Qualifications Authority and are registered on the National Qualifications Framework. Members that hold these designations are also documented in the National Learners Records Database.

Obtaining an IoDSA designation showcases your commitment towards directorship as a profession and signals to nominations committees that the applicant holds a particular skill and expertise related to directorship and governance in general.
