Governance for NPOs

Overview

This one day programme is aimed at equipping owners and directors of non-profit companies, often referred to as "third sector" with an overview of governance and how it relates to their environment. Corporate Social Investment practitioners in South Africa understand that having professional, knowledgeable, competence and dedicated directors of non-profit organisations is essential. The donor / funder community is becoming more stringent before funding a non-profit organisation especially when conducting their due diligence, which makes it imperative that all directors have the competencies to meet these expectations.

Corporate governance in the “Third Sector” is a priority area to be developed in South Africa and the following topics are included in the course.
