IoDSA office bearers contribute to the SANDF Eductation Trust

At the annual general meeting of the SANDF Education Trust held in Pretoria on 6 May, 2015, Ms Venete Klein CD(SA) (the chairman of the IoDSA) was elected and welcomed as a new Trustee. Major General Roy Andersen CD(SA) (a vice–president of the IoDSA) was re-elected as chairman with the remaining trustees being Maj Gen Lungile Dlulane, Brig Gen (Rev) Andrew Jamangile and Mr Teddy Daka.
The Board of Trustees of the Trust announced that the Trustees have awarded sixty four bursaries to the value of R883 042 for the 2015 academic year to the dependents of deceased/severely injured SANDF members – both Regular and Reserve Force - who died or were severely injured in the execution of their duties, subsequent to 27 April, 1994.
These awards were made to twenty nine Primary School, twenty one Secondary School and fourteen Tertiary Learners who are from all nine Provinces.
Since the establishment of the Trust in October 2013, bursaries to the value of R1 240 532 have been awarded to seventy nine individual learners.
The Trustees are expected to announce further awards in the near future in cases where assistance is still being provided to the guardians of applicants with the finalisation of application forms and the supporting documentation.
The Board of Trustees expressed their appreciation to the business men and women and members of the public who have, since the announcement of the establishment of the Trust, spontaneously contributed nearly five million rand to this worthy cause.
