Aligning remuneration with performance is a challenge faced by many organisations. This challenge is becoming more complicated due to an uncertain global economy, increasing shareholder activism and increasing regulation, and which is further compounded by the increase in external pressures on organisations to conform to a pre-approved list of incentive scheme practices driven by peer group analysis and proxy adviser guidelines.


Effective Remuneration Committees understand that linking pay with performance is a continuous challenge which necessitates regular reviews and modifications to the incentive scheme. By ensuring alignment with performance, not only will responsible remuneration be delivered to executives but investor confidence will also be gained in the process.
