 ·  Principle 6.1: The board should ensure that the company complies with applicable laws and considers adherence to non-binding rules, codes and standards.

·   Principle 6.2: The board and each individual director should have a working understanding of the effect of the applicable laws, rules, codes and standards on the company and its business.


Key focus areas:

The seminar will focus on the revised codes of good practice on BEE published by the Minister of Trade and Industry in October 2013 and which will take effect in October 2014.
The presentation will analyse how businesses will be impacted by the changes introduced by the revised codes and how their BEE strategies would need to be amended to take account of these changes
Included in the presentation is an analysis of the new 5 elements which will comprise the new generic BEE scorecard, namely:OwnershipManagement Control including employment equitySkills DevelopmentEnterprise and Supplier DevelopmentSocio-Economic Development
