Terms & Conditions for NPO special rates

This framework applies to Non-Profit Organisations defined as follows:

  • Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) - non-profit organisations that meet the requirements prescribed in Section 30 of the PBO Act.
  • Not for Profit Organisations (NPO) - a non-profit organisations that meets the definition provisions stated in Section 1(1 (x) of the Non-Profit Organisations Act 71 of 1997
  • Non- Profit Companies (NPC) - non-profit company that meets the definition provisions stated in Section 1of the Companies Act 71 of 2008

In order to qualify for the benefits outlined herein, the organisation must provide one of the following: 

  • a copy of their PBO registration letter with PBO unique reference number;
  • a copy of the Non-profit Organisations Certificate of Registration from the "Director of Non-Profit Organisations”
  • a copy of the CIPC Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum of Incorporation for the Non-Profit Company which will confirm its registration.


This one day programme is aimed at equipping owners and directors of non-profit companies, often referred to as "third sector" with an overview of governance and how it relates to their environment. Corporate Social Investment practitioners in South Africa understand that having professional, knowledgeable, competent and dedicated directors of non-profit organisations is essential. The donor / funder community is becoming more stringent before funding a non-profit organisation especially when conducting their due diligence, which makes it imperative that all directors have the competencies to meet these expectations.

Corporate governance in the "Third Sector" is a priority area to be developed in South Africa, and the following topics are included in the course:
