Overview
King IV Principle 14 states that "The governing body of an organisation should ensure that the organisation remunerates fairly, responsibly and transparently so as to promote the achievement of strategic objectives and positive outcomes in the short, medium and long term".

Governing bodies often appoint a remuneration committee to assist them meet these and other requirements. Companies listed on the JSE are required to appoint a remuneration committee as are certain categories of state owned enterprises. Other organisations often do so voluntarily.

The purpose of this one day course is to help remuneration committees become fully effective in all aspects of their mandate.

Course Outcome

On completion of this course delegates will know how to:   

  • Design value creating performance indicators which are applicable to their company’s specific circumstances;

  • Apply the principles of the balanced scorecard;

  • Incorporate relevant sustainability indicators in the balanced scorecard; and,
  • Link executive incentives to the achievement of performance indicators.
