Overview

This one day programme is aimed at equipping directors with knowledge, insights and perspectives on IT Governance and the risks it may pose for their businesses. Discussions will focus on the rapidly evolving nature of technology, the global environment as well as the new challenges it poses for the modern organisation and its directors.  Insights from this intervention will support your journey toward
gaining insight into key areas affecting IT governance and its impact on the organization.


King Code of Governance principles (King III and the Transition to King IV)

Amongst other key areas, the course also covers both King III Chapter 5 and the transition to King IV. It delves into how boards of organisations can address the ever-increasing concern around technology proliferation through an effective governance-driven approach whilst engaging the delicate interaction between strategy realisation and technology risk. Key perspective is also shared on how to optimise the balance between IT governance and organisational performance.

  • Setting the foundation – an overview of the nature of IT and the rapid advances in technology 
  • The ‘Culture at the Top’ – why setting the right tone at the top of the organisation is essential

  • Aligning strategy from board level to IT technical level
  • Discussing the various methodologies that are applied to achieve IT Governance
  • Discussing key issues involving IT Governance relating to assurance and reporting on IT
  • Addressing key technology issues and challenges facing organisations as well as topical areas  such as disruptive technologies, cloud-computing and cyber-crime
