From the Desk of the Chief Executive

In line with their desire to work closely together and the recognition that they bring complementary skills and experience to the management function, Ramalho and Oosthuizen have declared their wish to be viewed as a united Executive Team.

The IoDSAs board of directors unanimously approved the appointments, citing its confidence in the ability of both Ramalho and Oosthuizen to successfully lead the organisation and create a dynamic working relationship that will result in the cultivation of creative thinking and innovation.

Ramalho and Oosthuizen have served at the IoDSA for a total of 8 years and bring with them a depth of understanding of the workings of the organisation, as well as extensive experience in issues that affect directors in South Africa today. Their appointment follows the resignation in February of former CE Lindie Engelbrecht.

At the same time, the IoDSA has announced the appointment of Herman Mashaba as its Chairman for a further one year term to ensure continuity for the new board. Richard Foster has also been appointed as Deputy Chairman. Richard, a past member of the IoDSA Council and Executive Committee, has served for a period of four years.Herman has served on the board for a period of three years.
