Global Corporate Governance Forum

The Global Corporate Governance Forum is an International Finance Corporation (IFC) multi-donor trust fund facility located within IFC Advisory Services. The Forum was co-founded by the World Bank and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 1999.

Through its activities the Forum aims to promote the private sector as an engine of growth, reduce the vulnerability of developing and transition economies to financial crisis, and provide incentives for corporations to invest and perform efficiently in a socially responsible manner. Introduction to Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP)Section 216 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa introduced generally recognised accounting practice for the public sector and the Accounting Standards Board (ASB) issues Standards of GRAP in accordance with national legislation.  But what is GRAP? Who must apply it? What is the impact on the financial statements?  This 1-day workshop provides the participant with a high level overview of GRAP, with focus on certain “contentious” concepts and standards.

• High level review of GRAP standards and IGRAPS
