The money of governance

Imagine you have written a book. Not a novel, but a technical piece containing some of your ideas, thoughts and research. Most would refer to this as your intellectual property.

Now imagine you see an event or conference being hosted on your book. You are not acknowledged as the author of the book you are not invited to speak at the event, nor are you paid even a miniscule percentage of the proceeds from the conference you are annoyed arent you?
